Foundation Stage 2 took part in the ‘10,000 Hedgehogs mathematics project’ that is being run by the University of Leicester. The project is hoping to have 10,000 hedgehogs and these will be on display at the New Walk Museum, Leicester, from Saturday 8th November to 12th November. They are being arranged over 24 square metres of grass. The children can visit them and rearrange them.
The F2 children had fun making the hedgehogs using salt dough. We made a total of 103 hedgehogs that will be part of the 10,000. Before we delivered the hedgehogs we used our maths skills and estimated how many there were altogether.
Please let us know if you do have a chance to visit the museum to see the hedgehogs.
